WestConnect has provided Regional Transmission Service with an hourly non-firm product since July 1, 2009, pursuant to a number of FERC decisions to allow the service on an experimental basis for successive two-year periods. The current authorization expires on June 30, 2013, but the transmission providers currently offering the Regional Transmission Service are planning to seek a new FERC ruling to eliminate an expiration date and offer the Service on a permanent basis.

WestConnect Regional Transmission Service is overseen by the Pricing Management Committee. The Pricing Management Committee is renewing outreach efforts with other transmission providers to expand the available footprint for Regional Transmission Service.
